Some cancellations must be completed directly with the service provider that bills your account. We will guide you and help with the steps.

This Cancellation Policy (“Policy”) explains how cancellations and rescheduling are handled for installation appointments and service requests made through Optimumm Tv. This Policy works alongside our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy.

1) Scope

Optimumm Tv helps customers compare options, check availability, and request support or installation scheduling. Depending on your area, the underlying provider may manage scheduling and account cancellations. We will assist you with the process and provide guidance.

2) Cancelling before installation

If you scheduled an installation/activation and you want to cancel before the appointment:

  • Contact us as soon as possible so we can attempt to stop the order or appointment.
  • If the provider has already dispatched a technician, some fees may apply depending on provider rules.
  • If hardware was shipped, return requirements may apply (see Equipment section).

2.1 Best practice timing

To reduce the chances of fees, we recommend requesting cancellation at least 24–48 hours before the scheduled appointment. (Adjust this window based on your real policy.)

3) Rescheduling an appointment

If you cannot attend the scheduled appointment, rescheduling is usually possible (depending on technician availability). We can help you:

  • Move the appointment date/time
  • Update access instructions (gate codes, contact numbers)
  • Confirm readiness requirements (power, wall outlets, access to equipment)

If you live in an apartment, confirm building access rules in advance to avoid missed visits.

4) Fees & non-refundable items

Cancellation outcomes and fees may vary by provider, region, and the status of the order. Common items that may be non-refundable include:

  • Completed installation charges (after a technician visit is completed)
  • One-time activation fees (case-by-case)
  • Government taxes and regulatory fees
  • Broadcast TV / regional sports fees (where applicable)

5) Cancelling active service

If your service is already active and you want to cancel:

  • We can help document your request and provide steps.
  • Final cancellation may need to be completed with the provider that bills your account.
  • Early termination fees (ETFs) may apply if you are in a contract period (provider-specific).

5.1 Downgrades and plan changes

If you don’t want to cancel fully, we can help explore alternatives such as downgrading speed, removing add-ons, or switching to a different bundle.

6) Equipment returns

If equipment (modems/routers/set-top boxes) was provided, you may need to return it to avoid unreturned equipment fees. Return instructions are typically provided by the billing provider.

  • Keep tracking/receipt for your records
  • Confirm the equipment was removed from your account

7) Billing after cancellation

  • Credits/refunds (if approved) processed to the original payment method or as statement credits
