Understanding Your Bundle Statement
What Charges Appear on an Optimum Bundle Bill?
Your Optimum bundle statement lists every charge as an individual line item — even though you make one combined payment. Understanding each charge helps you spot errors and verify you are only paying for what you signed up for.
Bundled Service Fees
Monthly charge for your cable TV plan — varies based on your channel package (basic, standard, or premium). If you have premium channels such as HBO, Showtime, or sports packages, each may appear as a separate add-on line item.
Monthly charge for your broadband plan, based on your speed tier (e.g. 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, Gig). This is often discounted compared to the standalone internet price when part of a bundle.
Monthly charge for Optimum Voice (home phone service), if included in your bundle. May include unlimited domestic calling or a tiered calling plan. International call charges appear as separate add-on charges if applicable.
Equipment and Device Rental Fees
Monthly per-box rental fee for each Optimum-provided cable box or set-top box in your home. If you have multiple TVs, each additional box is an additional charge.
Monthly fee for the Optimum-provided cable modem. Using a compatible purchased modem eliminates this charge.
If you rent Optimum's Wi-Fi router separately from the modem, this appears as an additional monthly line item.
If your Optimum Voice service uses a separate adapter (ATA), a monthly device rental fee may appear on your bundle bill.
Other Charges and Credits
Bundling services typically provides a discount compared to standalone pricing. This appears as a negative line item (credit). Confirm this credit is present each month — it should not disappear unless your bundle tier changes.
Introductory bundle rates and promotional credits have fixed terms. When they expire, the credit disappears and your bill increases to the standard rate. Check your service agreement for when your promotion ends.
Government-mandated fees and state/local/federal taxes applied to your bundled services. These vary by region and service type and are non-negotiable pass-through charges.
Applied if your bundle bill was not paid by the due date the prior month. See our late payment guide to request a waiver.
If last month's bundle bill was not paid in full, the unpaid amount carries forward and is added to this month's total. Always pay the total amount due, not just the current charges.
Discounts from enrolled Auto Pay, outage credits, or customer loyalty credits. These appear as negative line items that reduce your total amount due. Confirm expected credits appear each cycle.

Set Up Auto Pay
Recommended for Bundle CustomersAuto Pay is especially useful for bundle customers because the combined bill amount can be significant — missing it carries a higher late fee risk. Auto Pay charges the full bundle balance automatically each month, eliminating that risk. It may also qualify for a monthly discount off your bundle total.
Common Bundle Billing Issues
Bundle-Specific Billing Problems and How to Handle Them
Bundled accounts have some unique billing complexities. Here are the most common issues Optimum bundle customers encounter and the right way to resolve each one.
Promotional Bundle Rate Expired — Bill Jumped
The most common bundle billing surprise — your introductory bundle rate has ended and the bill has increased significantly to the standard rate. Your bundle discount may still be present, but the promotional price reduction is gone.
What to do: Check your original service agreement for the promotion end date and standard rate. Call Optimum and ask about retention offers or promotions for existing bundle customers — loyalty pricing is often available for customers who ask. If the price changed without prior notice, see our billing dispute guide.
Bundle Discount Disappeared from Bill
If your bundle discount (the credit for combining services) suddenly stops appearing on your statement, your bundle may have been partially downgraded — dropping a service can remove the multi-service discount and increase the per-service cost of what remains.
What to do: Log in to your account and verify all services are still active and on your account. If a service was removed in error, contact Optimum to restore it and the associated bundle discount. If you intentionally removed a service, confirm the new pricing with Optimum before the next billing cycle. Use our billing dispute guide if the discount was removed without your request.
Extra Cable Box Rental Charges
Each additional cable box in your home carries a separate monthly rental fee. If you returned a box but the charge continues, or if a box was added to your account without your request, this is a billing dispute.
What to do: Count the number of cable boxes currently in your home and compare with the number of box charges on your statement. For a returned box still being charged, provide your return receipt with the device serial number to Optimum billing. For an unauthorised addition, dispute via our billing dispute guide.
International Call Charges on Home Phone
If your bundle includes Optimum Voice, unexpected international call charges may appear as a large one-time fee on your statement — especially if someone used the phone line for international calls without knowing they are not included in the base plan.
What to do: Review the call detail section of your statement to identify which numbers were called. If the calls were made in error, contact Optimum billing and explain the situation — first-time courtesy adjustments are sometimes available. Consider adding an international calling package to prevent future surprise charges. Use our billing dispute guide for the dispute process.
Partial Bundle Service Outage — Billed for Full Amount
If one service in your bundle was out (e.g. TV or internet) for a significant period while the others worked, you may be entitled to a prorated credit for the affected service — even though you still pay one combined bundle bill.
What to do: Document the outage dates and any Optimum service notifications. Contact Optimum billing and ask for a service credit proportional to the outage duration for the affected service component. Reference any outage ticket number you received. See our billing dispute guide.
Cannot Account for a Charge on the Bundle Bill
Sometimes bundle bills contain a charge that is not immediately identifiable — particularly if your plan includes add-on packages, premium channels, DVR fees, or on-demand purchases.
What to do: Review your full itemised statement online at optimum.net — it provides more detail than the summary page. Check for any on-demand movie or TV purchases, sports package fees, or add-on channels. If a charge still cannot be identified after reviewing the full statement, contact Optimum billing to ask for a charge description before disputing. See our billing dispute guide.
Cannot Pay in Full
What Happens If You Only Pay Part of Your Optimum Bundle Bill?
Optimum bundle accounts are billed as a single combined account. You cannot choose to pay only the internet portion or only the TV portion — the full balance must be cleared as one payment.
The unpaid portion of your bundle bill carries forward to the next month and a late payment fee may be applied on the next statement.
If the account balance becomes significantly overdue, Optimum may suspend all bundled services — TV, internet, and phone — together, even if only part of the bill is unpaid.
Proactively contacting Optimum before your due date gives you the best chance of arranging a payment extension or partial payment plan. See our late payment guide for exactly how to request a payment arrangement.
Reduce Your Bundle Bill
Ways to Lower Your Optimum Bundle Bill
Several practical approaches can reduce your monthly bundle total — contact Optimum directly through official channels to apply any changes.
Auto Pay discounts apply to the full bundle bill amount — the saving compounds across all bundled services. See our Auto Pay guide.
Purchasing your own modem and router eliminates modem and router rental fees — reducing your monthly total without changing your service plan.
Premium channel add-ons (HBO, Showtime, sports packages) are charged monthly. Removing channels you rarely watch reduces your bundle total immediately.
Call Optimum and ask about current bundle promotions for existing customers — especially if your promotional rate has just ended. Loyalty offers are often available for customers who ask but not automatically applied.
If your household consistently uses less bandwidth than your current plan provides, a lower internet speed tier within the bundle reduces the internet component of the monthly total.
Each additional cable box carries a monthly rental fee. Returning boxes for TVs that are no longer in use reduces your bundle total immediately by the per-box rental amount.
After Payment
How to Confirm Your Bundle Bill Payment Posted
After paying, confirm the payment was applied to your bundle account — particularly important if your due date is close and you want to confirm all bundled services remain active.
Every payment method generates a confirmation number. Screenshot or note it immediately — it is your primary proof of payment and is essential if the balance does not update promptly or any service is incorrectly suspended.
Check your registered email inbox for a payment receipt from Optimum within 30–60 minutes of payment. Check spam if it does not arrive. Keep this email until the payment appears in your billing history.
Log in to optimum.net or the app → Billing → Payment History. Card payments appear same day; bank ACH payments within 1–2 business days. A reduced balance confirms the payment posted.
After payment — particularly if your account was close to the due date — check that all bundled services (TV, internet, phone) are working. A confirmed payment should maintain all services. If any service is interrupted after a confirmed payment, call Optimum with your confirmation number.
